Ultra-Pure is a regenerable, high-performance filter medium for crystal-clear water in any saltwater or freshwater aquarium. The macroporous, synthetic adsorbent resin effectively removes organic pollutants, yellowing substances, and compounds that cloud the water from the aquarium water. Unlike activated carbon or traditional ion exchangers, it works through a special pore structure that binds even very small organic molecules.

Ultra-Pure comes ready to use in a filter bag and is placed directly in an area with high water flow.

Deplention is indicated by a noticeable darkening of the material.

Regeneration

Place Ultra-Pure in a 1:1 mixture of water and household bleach in a non-metallic container for 24 hours. Perform regeneration in a well-ventilated area and out of the reach of children. Only commercially available household bleach with 8.25% hypochlorite may be used (unscented, without dyes, no splash-free or thickened ‘splash-less’ bleach).

Then rinse thoroughly with clean water. The original colour and full effectiveness are restored and Ultra-Pure is ready for reuse.

Note: Some mucous membrane protection products (‘slime coat’) can permanently contaminate Ultra-Pure and make regeneration difficult or impossible. Do not reuse if there is a noticeable smell of bleach or chlorine. If in doubt, soak Ultra-Pure in a small amount of water and check for residues with a chlorine test.
